Me vs. The Neighbor

Just so you all know I am involved with a small scale war between my one neighbor and the rest of the neighborhood. Now I know many of you are asking why would I be involved in such a matter . Well anyone who knows me really well will tell you I have an opinion and a BIG MOUTH - a lethol combo.

Okay well back to the war, this neighbor who happens to rent her house is running a day care from her home (unlicensed I should add). When I use the word "running" I should actually say people drop their kids off there daily and pay her. Does she supervise these children? NO!!! she leaves 3 and 4 year olds out on a deck unattended, she lets the older kids who are about 7 or 8 run wild, riding their bikes in the middle of road and pretty much playing traffic.

So lets get to the WAR, after about 8 months of her neighbors (me and a few others) watching these kids who are in danger and constantly telling them not to do things that would in danger them we took matters into our own hands. Last Tuesday she allowed her 14 and 15 year old kids to go to our Community Pool and bring along 3 friends. I should note the pools rules clearly state 15 or above can be in the pool without an adult (bad rule in my opinion) but anyone younger or guest should have an adult resident of our community present. Well I decided to spend a late afternoon after work sitting by the pool unwinding. Ever try that with 5 teenagers? NOT possible. Well I told them they had to leave they decided to call their Mom (the daycare provider).

Well she arrived on the scene ready for a fight and boy did she get one. It came down to a lot of screaming and name calling (by her), 10 of her "relatives" of all ages joining in against me and my friend Debbie (also a neighbor). I guess she thought she would intimidate us WRONG AGAIN. The whole thing ended with someone calling the police, which needed to be done.

My questions are:

1. Why do we have a Home Owners Associate and a property management company? They do nothing when we have repeatedly reported these issue to them.

2. Why did our neighbors who have the same issues Debbie and I have with them just drive by? Didn't want to get involved, only wnat to complain.

3. Who in their right mind would allow this type of childcare be given to their child?

Okay enough, that was my rant. I try yto post positive upbeat information but this one is getting to me. Our solution to this is we are petitioning the neighborhood to have the pool rules changed and then that problem should be eliminated.
